Unkal Lake Beautification Project
Walking Path and Scenic Views
Unkal Lake now has a walking path funded by the Smart City project. You can enjoy beautiful views of the lake, especially at sunrise and sunset.
Phase 1 Improvements
Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL) is working to beautify Unkal Lake. The first phase included:
– Removing silt
– Installing submerged aerators and floating raptors
– Removing hyacinth from the lake surface
This phase cost ₹14.83 crores. The aerators help clean the lake naturally by increasing the dissolved oxygen in the water.
Phase 2 Enhancements
In the second phase, HDSCL is building a 5 km walking path with pavers and guard rails. They are also adding electric poles and benches.
